January coat modeled

Here is the coat I sewed for my step-daughter.

And that's my first entry for the Jacket-A-Month 2011 Sew-Along.
You can see the "before" pictures and how I made the pattern here.
If  it's cold where you are, keep warm.  If it's wet, keep dry.  And keep on sewing!

  3. You started big! BIG, I tell you! That coat is beyond wonderfulness, or maybe it's the combo of the coat and the daughter's jaunty pose. ;)

It's extra vunderbar with that sassy little chapeau!

  4. I've been following along on this adventure and can't believe what a wonderful wearable coat you have produced! You DSD looks awesome in her new coat and you have a TNT pattern to use in the future for yourself. It's a win-win all around!

  6. Great job I bet you've just endeared yourself to teenage step daughter the best way possible - through clothes! I love how the pockets are entered through the side, so unexpected.
