coming up - dress for a Black Tie Event (yippeee!)

So, yeah, this is happening!  I get to sew something special for someone I adore.  What fun!  Of course, I will blog about it.  And the coat for DSD is looking fantabulous.  Oh that fabric is a dream to work with!  That will be finished by mid January.  I am so glad I have sewn A LOT for myself over the last year.
It is actually enjoyable to sew for others every now and then.

So many good things.  At this moment, I stop and smell the roses. I am so grateful.

*peace*

  2. A selfish seamstress you are not. I do hope that this person also doesn't expect you to foot the bill for the fabric as well. I just don't find sewing for other people to be all that much fun. They are never available at your convenience. Maybe sewing for my dd has soured me but they are never available at your convenience and god forbid you should stick them with a pin. I mean you did it on purpose, right? Have fun.

  5. LOL, Nancy, I know exactly what you mean! This is my sister and she is a doll. It will be a pleasure and an honor to sew for her. And you are right, fittings are important and I have been burned in the past, too, when my subjects are uncooperative. But my sister is a grown up who understands.

The Annual White House Correspondents dinner is a major big deal for us regular-every-day-people. I am excited for her.

  6. Ooh something special to make - what fun! I did bridal couture for a few years and loved creating for others - when there is a deadline they always co-operate!

  9. The White House Correspondents' Dinner! Wow! Be sure to let us see the dress (and the wearer?) in advance so we can look for it/her on C-Span!
