A little dart will do ya: Jalie 2921 Women's Scarf-Collar Top

It worked!  I sewed a dart into the center back collar piece and tapered it into the center back seam of the bodice.  A somewhat crude correction considering how this collar is attached to the bodice, but it gets the job done.
I really like this top and I will sew it again- but I will re-draft the collar band and I have to think about the construction.  Thanks for your ideas!! It was a quick fix!

Thanks so much for your ideas!

  1. It's amazing what a day and a small adjustment can make. Good save! You have saved the rest of us from having this happen to our tops.

  2. I like it, I really like it! And the smile too. Great save and it should be easy enough to incorporate into the pattern.

  5. That little dart turned your frown into a very pretty smile! I really like this top and glad a small dart took care of the issue.

Thanks for helping out here. I was going through stash today in preparation for cutting this out. ;-)

  7. Oh my - that looks soooo much better! Definitely a case of turn that frown upside down :) and it is a pretty blouse after all, though I'd not have realised what a difference such a small detail would make!

  8. I am so glad you were able to fix it!! I have finished my buckle version and did not have that problem with mine. I was very worried as I tried it on this afternoon. I had tried it on earlier without noticing a gap in the back, but I hadn't really tried it on to look at it closely. This afternoon was the BIG test! I was paranoid that I was going to have a big gap! I was very pleased that it fit perfectly!
As of the last time I looked, all of the reviews have been of the buckle version. I am anxious to see what somebody else who makes the version like yours has to say about the back.

  9. Yes...that's a great fix and a great fit! You definitely need more especially one using the buckle idea featured on the front of the pattern envelope.
